What We Install
Subpanels: For most garage and workshop projects, a subpanel is the right starting point. It gives you a dedicated distribution point close to the new circuits, keeps your main panel from getting overfilled with breakers, and makes it easy to add circuits later.
240-Volt Circuits: Larger stationary tools need 240V power: 20 to 30-amp circuits for table saws, jointers, and planers; 30-amp circuits for welders and MIG equipment; 40 to 50-amp circuits for EV chargers and large air compressors; and dedicated circuits for dust collection systems.
Lighting: Lighting for these spaces can go in a lot of directions: high-bay fixtures for tall ceilings, can lights for general illumination, task lighting at work areas, security lighting outside. Whatever the space needs, we can wire and install it.
Outlets and Receptacles: We work with you on placement so outlets are set at the right height and located where you need the power. All garage receptacles require GFCI protection under the 2023 NEC, including 240V receptacles. We handle that as part of the installation.
Wiring to Detached Structures: For detached structures, we run the feeder wiring from your main panel or disconnect to the building. Either underground or overhead, whichever makes the most sense for your property.
How It Works
Assessment
Every job starts with a site visit. We look at your existing electrical setup, talk through how you plan to use the space, and put together a clear picture of what the project requires.
Permitting
For standalone electrical projects we pull the permits directly. For new builds, the electrical permit ties into the overall building permit. Either way, we take care of the paperwork, submit the applications, and coordinate the inspections so you do not have to track any of it.
Installation
We complete all work to code and keep you informed along the way.
Inspection
We schedule and coordinate all required inspections with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. You end up with a fully permitted, code-compliant system backed by our workmanship warranty.

What size subpanel do I need?
It depends on your equipment and what you might add later. A 60-amp panel handles light workshop use with one or two 240V circuits. A 100-amp panel is the right call for serious workshops with multiple 240V tools, dust collection, and a potential EV charger. If you are running multiple EV chargers on top of everything else, a 200-amp panel may be the right move. We go over this during the initial visit and give you a recommendation based on your actual situation.
What if my main panel is already full?
We can often free up space with tandem breakers. If your panel is near its overall capacity, a main panel upgrade may make more sense and can be included in the same project. We will tell you what we find when we look at it.
Can I add an EV charger at the same time?
Yes, and it usually makes sense to do it together since the work overlaps. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 40 to 50-amp, 240V circuit. We can build that into the subpanel from the start so it is ready when you need it.
Do garage freezers and refrigerators need GFCI protection?
Yes, under the 2023 NEC all garage receptacles require GFCI protection.
How long does installation take?
A subpanel installation typically takes 1 to 2 days of work. Add underground wiring to a detached structure and you are looking at another day or two depending on distance. Overall project timeline including permits and inspections runs 2 to 3 weeks. We will give you a realistic schedule after seeing your specific project.
